About the Role:
As part of the AML investigations management team for the Financial Investigations Department, the AML Alert Investigations Manager is responsible for overseeing AML transaction monitoring system alerts and managing an assigned group of AML Alert Investigators or other Financial Investigations Department team(s) as designated by the Director of Investigations or BSA Officer. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of internal controls to comply with all regulatory and legal requirements. Provides managerial leadership, guidance and subject matter expertise to support the Bank's BSA/AML Program. Reports to the Director of Investigations and assists with ongoing development and improvements to the BSA/AML investigations protocols and ensures that procedures are updated to reflect current practice. Partners with stakeholders within FID and the lines of business to facilitate feedback on efforts related to process improvement, program enhancements, and continuing suspicious activity identification, review and reporting controls within the Bank.
Essential Functions
Supervise assigned team of AML Alert Investigators within the Financial Investigations Department.
Implement measures to monitor effectiveness of AML Alert Investigators.
Manage applications related to alert workflow management, ensuring all alerts are reviewed and dispositioned in a timely manner and meeting applicable regulatory and procedural deadlines.
Oversee assigned resources to ensure that BSA/AML investigation programs are implemented effectively and in the most cost-effective manner.
Coordinate the development of written procedures and develop processes under the guidance of the Director of Investigations to ensure completion of required tasks. May assist in the development of enterprise-wide policies, procedures and required risk assessments.
Review QA/QC reports to address, remediate, coach team members and provide management responses.
Communicates directly with branch personnel and department managers, internal audit department, government or law enforcement agencies, outside service vendors and other financial institutions, as required.
Develop AML Alert Investigators skills and abilities through effective one-on-one coaching and facilitating training opportunities.
The AML Alert Investigations Manager
Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
Maintains a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
Promotes a risk-aware culture, ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
Reviews and evaluates team quality and production while proactively addressing potential/actual issues, training needs, and potential corrective action.
Uses discretion to ensure sound management decisions are consistent with Bank's policy and procedures and ensure uniform adherence and escalation as appropriate
May perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
Bachelor's Degree in business, business management, leadership, criminal justice, or related field (preferred)
4-7 years - of previous banking experience with a significant emphasis in the area of anti-money laundering compliance, with strong experience in managing AML SAR investigations or BSA/AML program management. (Required)
1-3 years - of experience managing others in compliance role, (Required)
Advanced knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements.
Demonstrate ability to translate rules and regulations to actionable processes and procedures in order to facilitate compliance with all AML rules and regulations and maintains up to date knowledge on trends in the AML and Sanctions areas.
Ability to develop and/or enhance AML operating processes to achieve high levels of effectiveness.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to pivot and reprioritize tasks and initiatives as needed.
Proven ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage AML risk.
Proficient with personal computers and related software packages such as Excel, Word and other business-related technology.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) - Required, or willingness to obtain

The pay range for this role is $80,051.00 - $120,000.00.
The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
