Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with iOS application development.
Experience with coding in data structures, algorithms and software design.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience in building UI components for iOS applications.
Familiarity with or interest in learning Jetpack Compose development.
Familiarity with iOS assistive technologies and localization/internationalization.

The Material for iOS team builds and maintains the Material iOS library, a set of UI components and systems to help Google build its products. Our current goals involve supporting accessibility, more fluid and consistent motion, and the future design of Google products.
This is a critical role that ensures Google product teams are moving forward with their adoption of material design. You will get to collaborate with multiple major Google products and provide critical technical information that feeds into the roadmap for material, with a particular focus on iOS.

We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Develop features with material designers, material UX, and other Google engineers.
Develop design docs and API proposals that shape how engineers use our library.
Develop UI components for the material for iOS library.
Develop and land great user experiences (you'll be writing and releasing code that is adopted by many public and internal Google apps).
Support Google teams through maintenance, migrations and new feature work that reaches billions of users.
