Summary The Area Manager is located in the Office of Information and Technology, IT Operations and Services, End User Operations, Midwest District. The Area Manager provides leadership and resource management (finance, human, and acquisition), leading the development and implementation strategy required to manage multiple area-wide IT End User Operations. Responsibilities Duties include but not limited to: The Area Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, services, maintenance and security for all customers within their immediate geographic area. Provides management, supervision and services for Area Network Operations, Operations Support, Systems Integration, and Systems Design. Responsible for IT Operations Maintenance, Information Assurance and Security Management, Resource and Personnel Management, and IT Training. Directs, reviews and participates in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of automated information systems and technical architectures in compliance with Congressional, VA, OI&T, and EUO directives. Compares and contrasts spend plans and budgetary requirements for the EUO District Area at large. Develops & monitors GRC Assessments, Security Control Assessments (SCA), OIG FISMA/FISCAM Audits that protects the NIST confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) of the organization's information, information systems, and networks in accordance with policies, procedures and control techniques, and agency and federal regulations. Conducts assigned projects and programs to facilitate IT transformation and secure delivery of services and mission critical information to the District Area. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, which may include one subordinate direct report supervisor, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration and the difficulty of the work and the capability of the employees. Provides oversight in insuring the direction and depth of training provided for the various IT support staff through the End User Operations is adequate and the training meets the requirements of the District's and the Department.
