Summary
As a New Construction Management Consultant at Oncor, you will serve as the primary contact for large commercial and industrial developers to determine new or expanded electric service needs. To ensure success in this role, you will learn and demonstrate knowledge of all Company policies, accepted distribution and transmission system standards, and a comprehensive understanding of the distribution and transmission infrastructure that serves new customers.
In this position you will have the option to report out of our Corporate Downtown Fort Worth Office or our HEB (Euless) Office. You will report on-site 3-4 plus days a week.
Key Responsibilities
Meet with commercial and industrial customers to collect all required information and documentation, providing initial customer consultation to determine project scope, requirements, and schedules for service requests typically greater than 10 megawatts (MW), including manufacturing, data centers, cryptocurrency operations, and economic development driven projects.
Negotiate and secure all required contracts for electric service delivery.
Serve as the key point of contact, both internally and externally, for projects from inception through closeout.
Act as the team lead for the negotiation, development, preparation, and securitization of customer agreements and contracts.
Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, developers, municipal personnel, and customers to proactively meet customer needs.
Provide project management services from inception to completion to ensure reliable, economical, safe, and timely extension of electric distribution services while meeting customer requirements and expectations.
Resolve Company or customer issues related to the extension of facilities and proactively communicate concerns to management in an organized manner.
Effectively manage multiple complex projects concurrently while providing detailed updates to multiple stakeholders.
Coordinate and lead a New Construction Management (NCM) team to project manage multiple projects.
Actively participate in personal development planning and training to expand knowledge and career opportunities.
Understand and effectively communicate the Company's line extension policy related to the expansion of Company facilities.
Function in a work location leadership role by coordinating work activities and internal and external communications, providing design and policy interpretation, concurrence, and business decisions, and reviewing and approving agreements prepared by others within the work group in accordance with delegated authority.
Routinely perform tasks typically handled by other groups, such as fulfilling both New Construction Management (NCM) and design roles for assigned projects.
Serve as a recognized subject matter expert (SME) for specific Company initiatives by routinely communicating with other workgroups and providing leadership, support, and training.
Be available and able to assist in storm restoration efforts as required.
Provide forecasts of work activity and estimated project completion dates.
Communicate with customers and internal work groups to ensure expectations are clearly understood and met.
Participate in special projects and committee assignments as requested.
Lead the new construction team through project initiation, design, construction scheduling, and installation phases.
Assist managers and supervisors in supporting and training team members.
Coordinate the daily workload of New Construction Management (NCM) team members.
Assume a lead role in the absence of a manager or supervisor.

Skills
Demonstrated effective communication and negotiation skills necessary to engage with and secure agreements from customers.
Working knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Professional and polished communication skills when managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, with 8 or more years of direct or related experience in project management, construction, operations, engineering, or design is required.
