Job Announcement
Performs professional analytical and technical work to assist with analysis, data management, research and policy development for Logistics operations for the Circuit Court. This position is designed to demonstrate broad and technical knowledge to perform the essential duties to support the Clerk of Court and Chief Judge. Works under direct supervision of the Clerk of Court and Chief Judge.
Acts as the liaison between the executive/division head's functional area, other county offices, and external agencies. Provides general knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules and the democratic political processes, and knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision. Participates and provides input into business process and redesign any information technology initiatives. Prepares narrative and statistical reporting for Circuit Court for changes or enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness for building operations. Acts as an administrator and court liaison for the Circuit Court facilities and courthouse complex. Communicates with other agencies, collects information and reports to the Chief Judge on issues pertaining to security for the entire judicial complex, including the judicial annex and historic courthouse.
Maintains cooperative (COOP) agreement, emergency preparedness and evacuation protocol, and works with Chief Judge on Office of Emergency Management (OEM) weather related calls and closures. Independently sets up investiture ceremonies for incoming judges. Handles chamber moves and furniture for judges, coordinates bench participation in special events. This position is required to maintain detailed knowledge of agency business processes. Required to work well under pressure and acts with appropriate discretion and professionalism with multiple agencies.
Note: The assigned functional areas are: information technology, data analysis, development/analysis of procedures as it relates to commercial building/facilities management, design, and construction, operations and maintenance, and/or real estate services.

Assists with measuring and analyzing indicators of performance, quality, quantity and efficiency of services;
Compiles and provides business information to management;
Maintains index or log of standard forms for gathering information from a variety of audiences;
Formats data sets and performs qualitative and descriptive statistical analysis to aggregate and assimilate data for displaying potential patterns and trends;
Assists in implementing business improvements, such as changes to policies, work practices, processes and procedures;
Contributes to position papers, evaluation reports and presentations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area.
BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However, persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in facilities related activities, building systems and building operations.
Exhibits comprehensive knowledge and/or experience regarding policies, procedures and logistic operations associated with the Circuit Court.
Experience with complex data tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis.
Experience performing analytical tasks, facilities related support, or information technology coordination; requiring strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Experience coordinating specialized events.
Increasingly responsible experience working in and assisting various officials, including Virginia (VA) State and Fairfax County officials, VA State Office of the Executive Secretary, VA State Police, Commonwealth's Attorneys, County Attorneys, and Circuit Court Judges.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills and experience.
Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to enter and retrieve data from a computer. Must be able to lift boxes and push a cart weighing up to 30 pounds. Position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
