THE POSITION
Are you a dependable individual who enjoys driving and connecting with new people? The Wayne County transportation team is looking for a part-time Van Driver to interact with and provide a necessary service to residents in need of door-to-door transportation services. This position gives you the opportunity to leave a positive footprint in the community while enhancing the lives of our members in need. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this part-time role, you will operate a county vehicle, typically driving up to 150 miles per day, while assisting a diverse group of consumers, including seniors and individuals who use wheelchairs. This position gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through both transportation services and daily social interactions. Our ideal candidate will be personable, patient, and adaptable, with strong communication skills for engaging directly with consumers. This position requires the ability to work independently, navigate varied terrain such as rough or unpaved paths, and the ability to adjust to changing schedules as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Part-time employment, approximately 14 to 21 hours per week.
Work hours vary between 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday - Friday as well as limited hours on Saturday.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty;or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Conditions of Employment:
No suspension of driver's license within the last three years.
