Overview
i3 is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineerto support theEndurance Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (EUAS) Product Office. This role focuses on delivering high-quality software engineering expertise across the full software development lifecycle in support of aviation and defense systems.
The selected candidate will provide technical leadership and oversight in the design, development, integration, testing, and sustainment of complex software systems. This position requires the ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate multiple technical solutions, and deliver effective, mission-focused outcomes in a dynamic government program office environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in lifecycle software development, software architecture, system integration, and team leadership. This role includes direct interaction with government stakeholders and contractors, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to represent technical and programmatic positions clearly and effectively. This position operates in a fast-paced environment focused on rapidly delivering critical capabilities to end users. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, sound engineering judgment, and a commitment to continuous process improvement and software quality.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, and deployment
Analyze system-level requirements, performance specifications, and operational constraints to ensure software solutions meet mission needs
Design and develop software systems in collaboration with systems engineers, analysts, and other developers
Review contractor-developed software to improve performance, resolve defects, and ensure compatibility with system hardware and architecture
Evaluate software designs and architectures for feasibility, performance, and compliance with user requirements, cost, and schedule constraints
Lead and support software integration, testing, validation, and system demonstrations
Monitor and assess software development activities to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., DO-178C, MIL-STD-882E, FACE)
Apply modeling, simulation, and analytical methods to assess software performance and system behavior
Support system integration activities, including coordination and scheduling of software installation and deployment
Interface with government personnel, prime contractors, and cross-functional teams to communicate technical solutions and program status
Develop briefings, reports, and courses of action for senior leadership
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Twelve (12) or more years of relevant software engineering experience
Extensive experience with full lifecycle software development and software/system integration
Strong understanding of software architecture, interface design, and system-level integration
Knowledge of aviation software standards, includingDO-178C and Design Assurance Levels (DAL)
Familiarity withMIL-STD-882E,FACE, and other applicable DoD and aviation standards
Experience analyzing software requirements, specifications, and system interfaces
Ability to evaluate and review software code and designs for performance and compliance
Knowledge of Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) and Agile development methodologies
Proven ability to lead technical efforts and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief leadership and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment
U.S. citizenship required
Active DoD Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
