Job Title: Superintendent

Job Description

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading the construction team, ensuring the project is completed efficiently and effectively. The role involves organizational and project management duties to provide the team with the necessary resources for success.

Responsibilities

Manage a team of workers, including scheduling, tracking project progress, and allocating resources.

Create cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project-related expenses.

Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, and other construction management personnel to determine budgets and timelines.

Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and suppliers.

Develop schedules for workers and subcontractors.

Hire additional subcontractors and assign tasks as needed.

Maintain a daily log of job site operations and report to management as necessary.

Make adjustments in operations to effectively meet construction deadlines.

Implement cost-effective and efficient management techniques.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in carpentry, concrete construction, and utility construction.

Ability to read blueprints and manage construction projects.

At least 2 years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.

Experience with subcontractor management and project management.

Skills in ground-up construction supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in hands-on field work in concrete, framing, utility, electrical, or mechanical scopes is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily outdoors and in an on-site trailer. The schedule is Monday to Friday on-site, with weekends spent at home. The role includes the use of a company vehicle and a per diem.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
