Summary This position will serve as the Chief of Ambulatory Care & Processing in the Business Office (BO) for the Overton Brooks VA Med Center. They'll report directly to the Ass. Chief, BO & in their absence, the Chief, BO while providing leadership and managerial support for substantial operations to fulfill the VA mission. They'll provide a high-level leadership support to BO, upper management & clinical services. You'll be a second liaison between BO & the clinical leaders for health care lines. Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for coordinating and supporting mechanisms for successful data entry Responsible for ensuring accurate, timely and consistent data is entered in the Medical Center database Provide the vision for development of monitors in measuring all data input Responsible for ensuring that stuff update all demographic information Reviews work in progress or upon completion and spot checks for work as deemed necessary to assess the quality and quantity of work produced by each employee. First line supervisory responsibilities include setting performance standards, evaluations, initiating on action disciplinary matters, awards, labor relations, approval and leave and work schedules. Monitor purchases to ensure that cardholders conduct daily purchase card reconciliations within the required timeframe and reconciliations are correct. Participates as a team member with Chief BO and Assistant Chief BO, in the annual budget estimate for operation of Medical Administration Service activities. Responsible for managing fund control points for BO and review operational budgets for all BO sections. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/06/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
