Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Bethel, Vermont. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of customer billing and payment processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts receivable procedures and be skilled at maintaining positive relationships with customers and internal teams.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with customers to resolve billing issues, disputes, and discrepancies in collaboration with the sales team.

Process and apply various forms of payments, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers, to customer accounts accurately.

Perform regular reconciliations of accounts receivable balances and promptly address discrepancies.

Prepare, review, and send invoices to customers while ensuring all billing aligns with contractual terms.

Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to track outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.

Generate and analyze monthly reports, including aging schedules, to provide actionable insights to management.

Assist in assessing customer creditworthiness and recommend credit terms to mitigate financial risks.

Maintain detailed and accurate records of customer communications, payment histories, and account activities.

Ensure all accounts receivable processes comply with company policies and relevant accounting standards.

Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to streamline operations and address customer concerns effectively. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts receivable management, including billing and collections.

Strong knowledge of cash applications and payment processing procedures.

Proficiency in managing customer accounts and reconciling financial discrepancies.

Familiarity with generating and analyzing accounts receivable reports for decision-making.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for handling customer inquiries and disputes.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams to improve processes and resolve issues.

High attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple accounts.

Knowledge of accounting standards and compliance requirements related to accounts receivable.
