Job Summary

The Perfect Power Data Scientist will be responsible for conducting analyses on various data @types to uncover hidden patterns and unknown correlations to support business and management decisions. This includes data mining, data auditing, aggregation, validation, and reconciliation. Create visual dashboards to develop reliable real-time visibility into key metrics and access deeper analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling. Utilizes analytics and statistical software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, Hadoop, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, and others to perform analysis and interpret data. This role would help to automate tasks, improve the quality of reporting and introduce advanced analytics for the company to make faster, smarter decisions.

Job Description

What you'll do:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Development of analytical solutions to solve high-value business problems across AEP.

Utilize analytical tools and data management skills to provide actionable business intelligence.

Build business knowledge across the organization and utilize knowledge to assist in the development of meaningful analyses.

Help identify, acquire, and provide management of data needed for various analytic studies.

Assist in the development of components of predictive and prescriptive systems to optimize operations and support strategic initiatives.

Apply data visualization tools to large data sets to enhance data understanding.

Acquire knowledge of business processes and data acquisition practices from business units using disparate systems.

Collaborate with technology partners to develop data acquisition and data management practices.

Help develop concise meaningful written reports and provide oral presentation of information, reporting dashboards that meet business needs for status, trends, and variances.

Bachelors degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science or related technical field is required.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Minimum requirements for SG 07 Data Scientist:

Education requirements are listed below:

Bachelors degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science or related technical field is required.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

2 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Minimum requirements for SG 08 Data Scientist Sr.:

Education requirements are listed below:

Bachelors degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science or related technical field is required.

Work Experience requirement listed below:

5 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

What you'll get:

SG 06 Data Scientist Associate salary starting between: $74,551-$93,189

SG 07 Data Scientist salary starting between: $87,633-$109,544

SG 08 Data Scientist Sr. salary starting between: $98,993-$128,689

Compensation Range:

$74,551.00 - $128,688.00

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S - Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
