Technical Sales Specialist

As a Technical Sales Specialist you will drive sales growth and build strong customer relationships. This strategic, results-focused role requires effective territory management, deep customer engagement, and skilled use of Salesforce (SFDC) to support sales execution and planning. You will lead efforts to expand Sartorius' presence in the Gene and Nucleic Acid markets by promoting our Advanced Therapy Solutions portfolio to biopharma, biotech, CDMO, academic, and hospital accounts. Success in this role will depend on your ability to understand complex customer needs, communicate product value clearly, and focus on (early) seeding activities to gain new business opportunities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will develop targeted sales strategies and stay current with industry trends to fuel sustained growth. You must be located within a commutable distance to Gaithersburg, MD. What You Will Accomplish Together with Us: Drive sales and revenue growth by actively promoting gene therapy focused products and services across an assigned territory, product portfolio, or key accounts Execute a focused territory growth strategy in close alignment with sales leadership Proactively identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities using strategic planning and available commercial tools Travel up to 50% within the territory to engage customers, advance opportunities, and support marketing initiatives Build, expand, and sustain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including scientists, researchers, and executive decision-makers. Achieve ATS product and product group Spec Win targets by embedding ATS solutions throughout preclinical, clinical, and commercial gene therapy and nucleic acid manufacturing workflows Own CRM execution by rigorously managing leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in SFDC, ensuring data accuracy and pipeline visibility Deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pricing solutions that convert opportunities into wins Collaborate cross-functionally to grow strategic accounts and accelerate overall revenue performance Provide technical and commercial support to advance customer success across relevant products and processes Champion the launch and adoption of innovative new products and services, driving execution from initial engagement through successful implementation Maintain a competitive edge by continuously tracking market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies What Will Convince Us: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering; an advanced degree is advantageous 3+ years of experience in the gene therapy field, ideally with handson laboratory or process exposure (e.g., cell culture media, transfection reagents, monolith chromatography, tangential flow filtration); familiarity with lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) is a plus 1+ years of customerfacing experience, with exposure to sales, presentations, or publicspeaking environments considered beneficial Practical experience using Salesforce (SFDC) and other CRM systems Strong communication and negotiation abilities that support effective customer interaction We Value: Highly selfdriven, energetic, and resultsoriented, with the ability to work independently and take ownership Proven collaboration skills and experience working in crossfunctional teams Solid proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel Identification with our core values: Sustainability, Openness, Enjoyment Highly selfdriven, energetic, and resultsoriented, with the ability to work independently and take ownership Proven collaboration skills and experience working in crossfunctional teams Solid proficiency in software tools such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel * Identification with our core values: Sustainability, Openness, En
