GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Manufacturing Supervisor manages all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, other production-related activities, and shipping to ensure the goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, to standard, and accurately shipped.

CORE & ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Manages manufacturing staff by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

Maintains quality by enforcing organization manufacturing standards.

Ensures implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.

Analyzes production and quality control to detect and correct problems.

Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Maintains good working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of- the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Flexible to work off-shifts and weekends due to a rotating shift schedule.

All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Preferred supervision experience or related field. High school diploma or equivalent required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered. Ability to read specifications, schematics and manuals. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear). Possesses analytical skills, attention to detail, and good communication skills. Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals with diverse @types of people. Must possess verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work overtime and flexible schedule/shifts. Maintains a positive attitude and contributes to a positive work environment. Experience operating a dolly, shrink-wrap machine, pallet jack, forklift and other equipment. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite applications and ERP systems. Driving is a requirement for this position. Therefore, must have the ability to travel domestically via operating a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver license and driving record which is acceptable to our insurance provider.
