Summary The Battle Creek VA Medical Center is currently recruiting for an Information Receptionist (Lodging Clerk) within Acute Hospital Clinical Service. This position will report to the Health Systems Specialist for the Associate Director of Patient Care Service. Responsibilities Incumbents will exercises excellent customer service, resourcefulness, initiative and sound judgment in carrying out the following duties and responsibilities: Serving as a central point of contact to provide explanations of requirements, regulations, and procedures in the Lodging area. Provides direction in the registration, clearances, and discharge process. Maintaining calendars and coordinates reception of mail, and telephone calls to ensure a smooth flow of business.. Initiates contact for medical and /or psychiatric emergencies. Conducts tours of the lodging facility, and conducts safety rounds of the area. Provides administrative support to lodgers. Orders supplies and linens. Provides support to assigned areas when there are no lodgers, according to limitations. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 12:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Hours may be rotated or extended based on the needs of the Medical Center and our Veterans. Virtual: This is not a virtual position. For a GS 4 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 3. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
