Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to manage high-level accounting operations at our LaVergne, Tennessee facility. This role is integral to ensuring financial data accuracy, driving process improvements, and adhering to corporate and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will excel in transforming complex financial data into actionable insights and maintaining robust internal controls.

This opportunity is ON-SITE Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

Prepare and oversee accurate financial reports, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow statements, adhering to corporate formats and timelines.

Manage month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes, reconciling plant-level transactions with the Corporate General Ledger.

Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies and provide detailed reports explaining deviations from budgeted results.

Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with company policies.

Lead audit preparation by organizing documentation and addressing auditor queries while maintaining transparency.

Assist with sales tax and property tax filings, ensuring compliance with multi-state regulations and timely submission.

Identify opportunities for automating manual accounting processes and enhancing system functionalities to improve efficiency.

Collaborate with plant operations and the accounting department to address financial data analysis and reporting needs.

Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements - Proven expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Proficiency in General Ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations.

Advanced knowledge of SAP and SAP ERP systems.

Ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and identify root causes of variances.

Familiarity with multi-state tax regulations and filing processes.

Experience in designing and implementing internal controls.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
