Summary The Administrative Officer provides oversight, coordination, and execution of administrative, financial, human resources, and operational functions to support high-quality, Veteran centered ambulatory care delivery. The AO works collaboratively with all clinical, nonclinical and ancillary CBOC leadership, in conjunction with the Assistant Director and Nurse Manager (NM) to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and continuous performance improvement. Responsibilities The CBOC's Administrative Officer, position indirectly supports all clinical, non-clinical and ancillary services to include but are not limited to Nursing, Mental Health, Primary Care, Geriatrics, Pathology, Imaging, Medical, Surgical, Social Work, Health Administrative and Facility services provided at the CBOC location. Provides support to all services via the office of Patient Care Services allowing Veterans, employees, and community members to escalate issues or concerns affecting operations. The Administrative Officer also participates in a periodic leadership forum with local leadership to engage supervisors, share facility specific information and address concerns. This Administrative Officer position duties consist of but are not limited to the following: Administrative Officer performs overall administrative management for the facility at the assigned CBOC(s). interpret administrative policies, developing and/or implementing local policies, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to top management on related issues. Serves as the primary administrative point of contact for assigned CBOCs, ensuring day-to-day operations are executed efficiently and in alignment with VHA policies and local procedures. Oversee CBOC operations including space utilization, workflow coordination, scheduling support, records management, and administrative support functions. Coordinates administrative processes to support access to care, continuity of care, and Veteran experience. Develops and provides guidance on administrative requirements for BPVAHCS, Lee County Healthcare Center, and the seven complexes multispecialty CBOCs. Serves as an advisor to the CBOC leaders including the Service Chiefs, Chief Nurse, Assistant Chief Nurse, Nurse Managers, Health System Specialists and the ELT on all administrative management matters of the CBOC associated programs and operation. Provides recommendations on courses of action pertaining to administrative issues. Serves as equipment custodial official for facility shared non-expendable equipment at the assigned CBOC site, coordinating with the Bay Pines Supply Chain Management equipment inventory management team for required annual inventories. Relieve the Nurse Managers and other CBOC leaders to the maximum extent possible of the administrative management responsibilities related to the assigned CBOC that can be assumed by an administrative employee. Providing technical and administrative assistance, guidance and direction related to clinical and administrative personnel assigned to the CBOC. Establishing policies and resolving difficult and complex issues. Administratively directs CBOC staff at the assigned location(s) with Providers, Nurse Managers, Assistant Nurse Manager, Social Workers, HAS Supervisors, and ancillary CBOC staff.
