Manufacturing Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Operator to support refrigerant receiving, sampling, blending, transferring, and inspection operations within our packaging facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe handling of refrigerants while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and quality standards. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safely receive, sample, transfer, blend, and inspect refrigerants throughout the facility

Operate vapor compressors, liquid pumps, and transfer systems

Inspect railcars, ISO containers, tank trucks, and storage tanks for leaks and DOT compliance

Climb railcars and containers as needed to perform inspections

Repair minor leaks when possible or escalate issues to supervision

Leak-check transfer lines and associated equipment

Weigh and accurately record weights of inbound and outbound containers

Maintain clear, accurate, and legible operational logs and records

Sample refrigerant shipments and storage tanks with support from the Laboratory Chemist

Identify and report non-conforming materials or conditions

Operate forklifts, tractors, stackers, switchmasters, and overhead cranes safely

Follow all DOT regulations for transporting and shipping refrigerants

Communicate job status, changes, and issues through written logs and team communication

Assist with training new or junior operators as needed

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area

Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision

Required Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent

General production and machine operation experience

Basic math and reading proficiency

Ability to follow written procedures, safety policies, and work instructions

Mechanical aptitude and comfort operating industrial equipment

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production setting

Preferred / Additional Skills

Forklift and material-handling equipment experience

Overhead crane operation

Packaging and inspection experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeton, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr.
