Develops objectives, policies, and procedures for department cost center to formalize and implement the mission, vision and values of Billings Clinic. Accountabilities include: quality of services; short and long range planning to achieve goals and objectives; fiscal control; physician and interdepartmental/intradepartmental relations; and personnel management. Manages financial analysts and responsible for continual analysis, development, maintenance, improvement and evaluation of clinical and/or financial data system applications. Manages analysts in completion of clinical and/or financial analyses. Responsible for extracting, understanding, sharing and presenting information from decision support and accounting systems with Billings Clinic leadership, management, medical staff and all others necessary.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and oversees department cost center to ensure adherence to organizational mission, vision, values, strategic goals, and business strategies. Interprets and supports the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic. Responsible for promotion of, and adherence to, the elements of Billings Clinic's Code of Business Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program.
Develops and implements short and long-range financial plans for Billings Clinic.
Oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of realistic, cost-effective operating and capital annual budgets.
Develops, retains, recruits and leads a talented team committed to accomplishing the goals and objectives of Billings Clinic. Recommends, implements and evaluates plans and systems that assure sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide services. Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.
Demonstrates and encourages an ethic of open communication and teamwork throughout the organization. Builds an environment of shared commitment to Billings Clinic's goals and responsibilities to achieve quality outcomes. Provides consultation for related concerns and acts as a customer advocate by demonstrating sensitivity to ethical and legal ramifications of practice.
Manages Decision Support staff in accessing, extracting, synthesizing and verifying clinical and/or financial information.
Summarizes clinical and/or financial information for formal presentation, including interpretation of data and supporting recommendations based on findings.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining integrity of decision support information systems. Leads, recruits, develops, mentors, and retains a talented team committed
Identifies the data required and the internal/external means to gather that data. Prepares quantitative and qualitative analysis within required deadlines and within billings Clinic financial policies and procedures.
Identifies end user needs for information and designs, implements and monitors systems that collect the information. Provides timely and meaningful financial analysis and assistance to all levels of management and other customers.
Serves as a subject matter expert for leadership, department management and appropriate staff regarding the inter-relationships of data and financial and business analysis.
Takes proactive approach to identifying problems and opportunities and recommending solutions that support the strategic direction of the department or the organization.
Utilizes Lean Six Sigma performance improvement principles to assess departmental and organizational gaps in performance and identify ways to improve quality, reduce waste and eliminate unnecessary process variation.
Identifies individual education needs and sets goals for staff growth and development; meets all mandatory organization skills requirements and departmental knowledge requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
MBA degree in business, accounting, financial management or related field is required.
Experience
10 years or progressively responsible professional experience.
Hospital/clinic experience is strongly preferred
Certifications and Licenses
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) At hire
Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification Within 2 years of hire
