Job Summary:
Provides detailed analyses and estimates of labor and material costs in support of proposal pricing, work-in-process fiscal control and customer audits.
Essential Functions:
Support planning and budgeting activities, including preparing and summarizing departmental work papers and supporting documentation.
Analyze cost performance for general and administrative expenses, overhead, direct labor, and direct materials.
Review and resolve cost performance and accounting record variances.
Provide cost-to-complete estimates for current programs.
Analyze month-end variances, production work-in-progress, and shipments.
Respond to customer audits or inquiries with accurate data.
Prepare and review manufacturing overhead budgets and performance justifications.
Update and analyze bills of material.
Evaluate labor history trends and adjust proposals using learning curve factors and judgment.
Respond to special fiscal report requests from manufacturing management.
Conduct operational audits.
Assist with year-end and quarterly inventory processes.
Prepare and reconcile reports as required.
Participate in month-end closing activities, including completing journal entries.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Non-Essential Functions:
Back up Cost Manager, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting or related area.
Knowledge: Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley; Knowledge of financial systems and budget process; Knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes utilized in a high technology electronics design and manufacturing operation
Skills/Abilities:? Ability to organize and present financial data in a clear and concise manner; Ability to effectively express self orally and in writing to prepare comprehensive analyses, recommendations and reports; Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and outside professionals
Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related degree

Salary range: $82,000 - $101,800. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
