Job Title: Accountant

Job Description

The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and managing general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. This role involves preparing and posting journal entries for various transactions, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and resolving discrepancies. The Accountant will assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, support month-end and year-end close processes, and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data. Additionally, the Accountant will assist with audits and provide necessary documentation, while continuously improving processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

Maintain and manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.

Support month-end and year-end close processes.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

Continuously improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Essential Skills

5+ years of accounting experience.

Must have Revenue Recognition methodology experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with ERP system Jobscope is a plus.

Manufacturing industry experience would be nice to have.

Sales and use tax experience would be a nice to have.

Public accountant experience would be a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shoreview, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
