Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description
The 12-Volt Electrician is responsible for installing, wiring, and troubleshooting electrical systems used in custom emergency vehicles. This role supports the build-out of emergency lighting, consoles, and related electrical components to ensure vehicles meet established safety, quality, and reliability standards.
Responsibilities
Design and fabricate wire harnesses and electrical mounting solutions for emergency vehicles.
Build and wire emergency control consoles according to customer specifications.
Install emergency lighting packages, sirens, cameras, and other 12-volt electrical components.
Integrate aftermarket electrical equipment with OEM vehicle systems.
Work with multiplex or CAN-based electrical systems as required.
Perform electrical testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting throughout the build process.
Ensure wiring is properly routed, secured, labeled, and protected.
Collaborate with production and quality teams to complete builds accurately and on schedule.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience installing, wiring, and maintaining 12-volt DC electrical systems in vehicles.
Experience: 2-4 years in automotive, fleet, or specialty vehicle electrical work.
Strong electrical fundamentals, safety awareness, and precision.
Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues using standard diagnostic tools.
Experience: 2+ years hands-on troubleshooting.
Analytical thinking, persistence, and accuracy.
Ability to read and follow OEM and custom wiring diagrams.
Experience: 2+ years working from schematics.
Detail orientation and technical comprehension.
Experience installing and integrating electrical components within vehicle chassis.
Experience: 2-3 years in automotive or vehicle upfitting environments.
Mechanical aptitude, workmanship pride, troubleshooting, and control panel expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong understanding of electrical principles and DC circuits, particularly 12-volt systems.
Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills.
Experience with emergency vehicle equipment or specialty vehicle upfitting.
Familiarity with multiplex electrical systems.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing and production facility focused on custom emergency vehicle builds. Work is performed primarily indoors on the shop floor and requires regular interaction with electrical components, vehicle chassis, and production tools. The role involves hands-on, detail-oriented work, including standing, kneeling, bending, and working inside and around vehicles for extended periods. Employees work in a team-oriented environment with electricians, assemblers, and production staff, following established safety procedures and quality standards. The pace is steady and project-driven, requiring focus, organization, and adherence to build schedules. Use of basic hand tools, electrical testing equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The working hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 3:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
