Job Title: Accounts Payable AssociateJob Description

The Accounts Payable Associate will be responsible for the daily processing, input, and posting of accounts payable invoices. This role involves managing vendor setup and maintenance, processing employee expense reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The position requires examining and resolving purchase order issues, reviewing invoices for accuracy, and participating in the A/P month-end close process. The associate will support the Accounting Department in special projects, system implementation upgrades, and general accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

Daily processing, input, and posting of accounts payable invoices.

Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders.

Vendor setup and maintenance.

Process and review employee expense reports weekly.

Examine and resolve issues relating to purchase orders and invoices.

Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy of G/L coding and data entry.

Conduct weekly check-run for invoices and expense reports.

Ensure timely completion of invoice and expense report processing.

Review vendor statements and communicate with vendors as required.

Promptly resolve A/P and expense report issues and discrepancies.

Participate in A/P month-end close process.

Support the Accounting Department in special projects and during audits.

Participate in system implementation upgrades, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365.

Assist with enhancements to achieve automation and enhanced reporting functionality.

Support handling of procedures and policies concerning general accounting tasks.

Perform basic department support tasks including mail review, sorting, and file maintenance.

Essential Skills

Accounts payable and invoice processing experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems.

At least two years of accounts payable experience.

Ability to accurately process data transactions in a high-volume environment.

Strong data entry skills and analytical abilities.

Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Organizational skills and attention to detail.

Experience with Accounting System Software and ERP Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 R2 and Dynamics 365.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Two years of college or equivalent experience.

Experience with AP and Purchasing module in ERP systems is a plus.

Implementation experience with mainframe or client server-based systems is a plus.

Work Environment

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. The Accounts Payable team is small, consisting of the AP Supervisor and the AP Associate, emphasizing the importance of cross-training and coverage within the team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
