Description
Responsible for the safe and efficient rigging of heavy equipment, machinery, and materials on construction sites, in manufacturing facilities, or in other industrial settings. Your expertise in rigging techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols will be instrumental in ensuring the success of lifting and moving operations.
Loads, transports, unloads, and assists in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved
Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps
Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes and chains to crane hook
Gives directions to crane operator or hoisting engineer engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety or workers
Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches
Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment
Performs operation of various equipment (forklift/skid steer)
Attaches loads to rigging equipment to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand or power tools
Signals or verbally direct workers engaged in hoisting or moving loads to ensure safety of workers and materials
Spotting on all activities
Interpret drawings
Unload materials
Move material to work area where it will be used
Identify various @types of rigging hardware
Inspect rigging
Inspect equipment
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 6 years' experience
Must have NCCER or equivalent certification
Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull
Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment
Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses
Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates
Ability to use respirators or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus
Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrations for extended periods of time
Ability to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment
