SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, technology strategy, and analytics initiatives. Align technology and data-driven insights with business goals to drive growth, improve efficiency, and ensure competitive advantage. Focus on the architectural design, development, and deployment of the enterprise's systems. Define system solutions based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing or needed applications, systems, and platforms. Ensure the security and compliance of government systems and maintain integrity of sensitive information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Research, select, and test technology products required for solution delivery.
Establish, implement, and document technology integration or migration strategies.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and new technologies. Work on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.
Develop and implement the organization's technology and analytics strategies, ensuring they support business objectives.
Oversee the architecture, management, and security of IT infrastructure, including networks, cloud systems, and enterprise software.
Ensure the organization is utilizing cutting-edge technology solutions for scalability, security, and efficiency.
Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system changes to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes.
Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, and business requirements.
Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with application architects who manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative.
Provide consulting support to other team members within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture.
Understand and manage risks associated with information systems and networks.
Assess and evaluate the risks associated with information systems.
Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies due to aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
Define, assign, and control business user access rights to systems, data, and applications
Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models.
Analyze the business-IT environment (run, grow, and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation, and innovation).
Analyze the technology industry, competitors, and market trends, and determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
Define the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
Provide technical leadership in analyzing needs and translating them into robust, operationally sustainable, and extensible technical solutions.
Identify through research and prior experience, optimal methods, and approaches to translating business needs into software solutions.
Make recommendations for technical solutions by addressing application, data, and technology architectures.
Help software development teams implement industry-appropriate and regulation-compliant software solutions.
Facilitate and participate in business requirements analysis.
Participate and provide technical know-how on new product development or major product enhancements.
Translate business needs into solution architectures within the Application, Data & Technology paradigms.
Guide and review software, database, and systems designs.
Create, maintain, and promote architecture policies, procedures, and standards.
Identify, evaluate, and guide implementation of appropriate vendor technologies.
Assist with resolution of business-critical issues within the operational environment as needed.
Develop network architecture and system infrastructure.
Monitor all systems to ensure they are working correctly.
Interface with end users, providing support and troubleshooting of technology related issues and requests.
Coordinate and assist with high priority incidents and problem management lifecycle.
Assess high-impact opportunities for the business and partner with other leaders to understand their data needs.
Provide guidance and support to business leaders and stakeholders to support their customers and internal operations.
Provide the data path to create models to predict customer/employee behaviors, segmentation models for driving operational improvements, growth and operational key performance indicators (KPIs).
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff through subject-matter expertise in systems architecture and enterprise technologies.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or equivalent technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
Ten plus (10+) years of experience in an Enterprise Architect position building and deploying enterprise-class applications along with prior experience in a technical leadership role.
Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed.
Experience in modeling business processes by using various tools and techniques.
Experience with enterprise architecture modeling tools.
Experience with tools for customer segmentation, attribution, engagement, data mining, event management, etc.
Expert knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, data lakes, operational data stores, integration hubs, data transformation, data mining, and ad hoc analysis.
Extensive programming experience in multiple languages and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Prior experience with cloud technologies.
Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software; ability to function as a consultant to other IT groups on security matters.
Knowledge of security controls for midrange, PCs, laptops, and AWS PAAS services.
Basic understanding of various multiple environments such as Windows and Linux.
Hands-on knowledge of working with network routers, LAN bridges, and the communication architectures which link them together (e.g. LAN's, WAN's SDWAN, MPLS, site to site VPN and AWS Transit Gateway).
Understanding security firewall gateways and their designs, configuration and management, including appreciation of the value of computer and firewall audit logs, automated compliance checkers and break-in detection and evasion utilities.
Understanding and experience with AWS networking concepts including Transit Gateways, VPCs, Cloud Formation Templates.
Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of sitting for extended periods of time while working at a desk, using hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and frequent use of a computer and phone. Occasional standing, walking, bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be required. May occasionally require lifting or moving items weighing up to 15 pounds. Moderate to extended periods of office work with significant computer usage should be expected. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE
Pay range: $110,000 - $125,000 per year
