About the role The Industrial Product Manager will be responsible for increasing the profitability of existing product lines and developing new products for the Commercial and Industrial business unit. This includes managing new product projects from existing ideas, helping to develop new ideas based on experience and interaction with customers, spending time in the market to understand problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing pricing, inventory, and other day to day tasks. Responsibilities Own and manage new and existing product lines throughout their lifecycle. Drive quality improvements, cost reduction initiatives, lean manufacturing efforts, and product customization. Develop and recommend product strategies, including a 3-5-year product roadmap. Lead market research and analysis to support the new product development process, ensuring all Phase Gate deliverables are met. Manage all aspects of product development, including specifications, packaging, pricing, and phase-in/phase-out planning. Lead cross-functional project teams to execute new product development and sustaining initiatives Create business cases, Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), and project charters for new product initiatives. Engage with Sales through customer visits, sales meetings, product training, and market research activities. Build and maintain market and product intelligence, including competitive insights, economic factors, and industry trends. Analyze product line performance, including profitability, forecasting, and inventory levels. Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Support, and Sales teams. Partner with Marketing and Marketing Communications to support new product launches and collateral development. Maintain competitive cross-reference information for assigned product lines. Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships. Experience organizing and leading project teams to support business opportunities and execute initiatives. Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills. Highly creative, resourceful, and solutions-oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field required. Minimum of 3 years of direct Product Management experience. Experience managing products across the full lifecycle, from concept through launch and phase-out. Experience working with regulatory or standards organizations (e.g., UL, CSA, NOM) preferred. Exposure to working with distributors, manufacturers, suppliers, and end customers preferred. Strong financial acumen with experience analyzing sales data and business performance metrics. Demonstrated experience preparing reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation. Proven ability to present information effectively to leadership, cross-functional teams, and external audiences.
