Junior Staff Accountant (9-month contract engagement)

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Staff Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, ensure client financial records are accurate, and support both client and internal reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills who can communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Handle day-to-day accounting tasks including accounts payable invoices, cash receipts, daily cash monitoring, and month-end bank reconciliations.

Maintain accurate and organized client financial records; identify and resolve discrepancies.

Assist in preparing client reports such as profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and ad hoc requests.

Support internal reporting as needed.

Collaborate with account teams to provide timely and accurate financial information.

Communicate clearly with clients and internal teams regarding questions, timelines, and issues.

Essential Skills

Experience in accounts payable, general ledger, and invoicing (0-2 years).

Proficiency in cash ledger, reconciliation, and accounts receivable.

Detail-oriented and organized, able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical skills and good judgment; able to spot issues early and follow through.

Effective communicator with the ability to work well with clients and internal teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong customer service background preferred, particularly in client-facing roles.

This is a Contract position based out of Ashburn, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
