About the Role
The Finance Director, Operations FP&A, leads enterprise financial planning, performance management, and cost governance for global Operations at MiniMed. Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations Finance, this role delivers integrated financial insights across Operations, Quality, Product Costing, and Real Estate to support executive decision-making in a regulated, mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Enterprise Operations FP&A & Performance Management
Lead consolidated financial planning, forecasting, and long-range planning for global Operations, including corporate Manufacturing, Supply Management, Quality, and Real Estate.
Own the enterprise Operations financial view, integrating inputs from Manufacturing Sites and Global Supply Chain & Supply Management.
Deliver executive-level Operations performance reporting and reviews, with clear visibility into cost, productivity, risks, and outlook.
Define and maintain standard financial metrics, definitions, and planning assumptions across Operations.
Proactively identify performance gaps, financial risks, and cross-functional trade-offs, escalating insights and recommendations
Corporate Operations Financial Accountability
Hold financial accountability for corporate Operations functions and centrally managed initiatives, including corporate Manufacturing, Operations Excellence, and Real Estate.
Ensure disciplined cost management, financial transparency, and governance for corporate Operations spend.
Support executive Operations decision-making through rigorous financial analysis for enterprise Operations initiatives, transformations, and operating model changes.
Quality Finance
Act as the primary finance leader for the Quality organization, providing strategic financial oversight across Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Quality Engineering.
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and long-range planning for Quality, including audits, inspections, remediation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide financial transparency and governance for quality-related investments, risks, and remediation efforts, including cost of poor quality (COPQ).
Assess financial impact and support prioritization related to regulatory compliance, quality risk mitigation, and patient safety.
Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to senior leadership to support Quality strategy and resource allocation.
Product Costing & Standard Cost Governance
Own enterprise product costing and standard cost governance, and establish consistent costing methodologies, assumptions, and standards across all manufacturing and distribution sites.
Oversee standard cost setting, updates, and variance analysis in coordination with site finance teams.
Drive continuous improvement and standardization of costing processes to improve accuracy, comparability, and efficiency.
Ensure product cost data supports financial reporting integrity, performance management, and enterprise decision-making.
People Leadership & Finance Capability Building
Lead and develop a high-performing Operations finance team across Operations FP&A, Quality Finance, Product Costing, and Real Estate.
Establish clear roles, expectations, and operating rhythms across the team.
Drive finance process standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement, including scalable ways of working.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
Ensure strong financial governance, internal controls, and policy compliance across Operations.
Partner with Controllership, Internal Audit, Tax, and Enterprise FP&A to support audit readiness and financial transparency.
Ensure alignment with enterprise financial policies and governance frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field with 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 7+ years of people leadership,OR
Advanced degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, including 7+ years of people leadership
Preferred Qualifications
MBA, CPA, or CMA
12+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior-level FP&A or Operations Finance leadership
Experience in medical devices, life sciences, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
Experience supporting Quality finance, product costing, or other governance-heavy finance areas
Proven track record of leading managers and building high-performing finance teams
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis and executive-level storytelling
Demonstrated experience leading enterprise or global financial planning, forecasting, and performance management
Ability to synthesize financial inputs across functions and deliver clear, executive-level insights
Strong financial acumen with experience in cost governance, financial controls, and decision support
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and translate complex financial topics into clear business insights
Experience operating in complex, matrixed organizations

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$168,800.00 - $253,200.00
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
