This position requires an employee to be onsite at 3200 Labore Rd, Ste 104, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our DCT Human Resources Division, Payroll team, for an exciting opportunity as an Accounting Technician. As the Accounting Technician, you will ensure employees accurately record time worked, leave taken, and that they are paid timely and accurately.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with the completion of bi-weekly payroll functions so that employees are accurately paid and hours are properly recorded in compliance with State and Federal laws, labor union contracts, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other policies and procedures.
Perform shared payroll duties such as audit and reconcile payroll specific reports, update and keep self-service security accurate, process FLSA specific adjustments and payroll email delegate.
Provide customer service with all customers from within DCT and other agencies to resolve complex issues.

Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all the minimum qualifications listed below. One (1) year of experience supporting payroll processes that demonstrates the following:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records and reports; locate errors; and recommend solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.
Ensure accurate and timely salary payments, processing overtime, leave deductions, and retroactive pay, and responding to payroll-related inquiries.
Entering information into various financial systems (i.e., SEMA4, OBIEE) and applications, databases, spreadsheets, and other office applications.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and SharePoint.
Customer service experience sufficient to interact effectively with individuals having differing backgrounds to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information on the phone and through e-mail.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of SEMA4 (Statewide Employee Management Payroll) or other similar databases for processing payroll and or reimbursements of employee travel claims.
Experience and knowledge of SWIFT (Statewide Integrated Financial Tools) used for processing of purchase orders, payments and financial inquiries.
One or more years of experience processing employee payroll for a large (e.g. 300 or more employees) governmental agency or large business organization.
