We have an exciting opening for an Accountant I ! This person ensures the proper accounting for transactions that are critical to the operations of the Premera group of companies. He/she is responsible for month-end closing processes, including journal entries, monthly reconciliations and variance analyses of assigned general ledger accounts for Premera Blue Cross and its subsidiaries. He/she exhibits a commitment to excellence, initiative, innovation, adaptability, and teamwork.
What you will do:
Responsible for monthly close processes including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses.
Develop, analyze and interpret accounting data.
Support senior accountants with account reconciliations as well as in their work with internal and external auditors.
Seek out opportunities for process improvement or to gain efficiency.
Research, investigate, and resolve accounting, reconciliation and system discrepancies. Proactively identifies issues and independently works to resolve completion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's Degree or (4) years' experience in accounting or related field. (Required)
One (1) year of relevant experience. (Required)
Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). (Preferred)
Experience working with Workday or a similar application. (Preferred)
Health insurance experience. (Preferred)

The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.
The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.
National Plus Salary Range:
$59,800.00 - $89,700.00
*National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska .
