THE POSITION
Torrance State Hospital, a prominent entity within the Department of Human Services, is actively looking to fill the position of full-time Utility Plant Operator 2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
You are tasked with performing specialized duties related to the daily operation and upkeep of steam boilers and their associated equipment, which are essential for generating steam. This steam production is critical for ensuring a consistent supply of heat and hot water necessary for the efficient functioning of the Hospital. Your role includes maintaining an uninterrupted flow of hot water to various buildings within the facility, thereby supporting the overall operational needs and comfort of patients and staff alike. Your expertise in this area is vital to uphold the standards of service and safety expected in a healthcare environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are second shift: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Wednesday - Sunday. Overtime as required and subject to emergency call in.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience as a Utility Plant Operator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
One year of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes six months of semi-skilled work experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of industrial, commercial, or institutional utility plant systems and related equipment.
