Administrative Specialist - Trust Lands

Work Unit Overview: The Forestry & Trust Lands Division (FTLD) for the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) manages the state's trust land resources to produce revenues for trust beneficiaries, while considering environmental factors and protecting the future income-generating capacity of the land. The division manages approximately 5.2 million surface acres and 6.2 million acres of mineral rights. There are 14 trust beneficiaries - including the public schools (K-12) and the university system. The Trust Lands are comprised of: Agriculture and Grazing Management Bureau, Forest Management Bureau, Minerals Management Bureau, Real Estate Management Bureau, Recreational Use Program and the Finance Program. The majority of division staff are located in six field offices around the state. Job Overview: The position provides administrative, operations and communications support for the Trust Lands bureaus of the Forestry & Trust Lands Division, including support for the Administrator, Deputy Administrator, Budget Analyst Supervisor, and Bureau Chiefs. In addition, the position provides administrative support for the State Board of Land Commissioners (Land Board), which includes the Governor, Attorney General, State Auditor, Secretary of State, and Superintendent of Public Instruction. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree business administration, communications, accounting, and/or office technology. 2 years of related experience. Other combinations of education or experience may be considered. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner and represent the Department and Land Board during public meetings. Detail-oriented work ethic and excellent time management skills. Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines and remain professional under stressful circumstances. Capability to ensure high quality work products on a consistent basis. Knowledge of general office administration and procedures. General accounting and budgeting principles. General knowledge of record management principles and practices. Proficiency and experience with routine business writing and correspondence. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Proficiency in graphic design and webpage management. Ability to manage Zoom meetings and webinars including meeting set up, registration, and facilitation of meetings/webinars. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Programs to include Word, Outlook email and calendar, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Working knowledge of technical programs and software for information storage and maintenance, or ability to learn programs and software. Special Information: Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. A valid driver's license is required with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months. Eligibility to Work: In accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act, the person selected must produce within three days of hire documents that show authorization to work in the United States. Examples of such documentation include a birth certificate or Social Security card along with a driver's license or other picture I.D., or a U.S. passport, or a "green card".
