Position Description
The Court Bond Compliance Officer (ASO3) is a non-Civil service position with General Sessions Administration department. The incumbant monitors compliance with court-ordered bond conditions, documents compliance information, and reports observations to the Court and appropriate agencies. Compliance Officers support judicial decision-making by maintaining accurate records regarding defendant adherence to bond conditions. Compliance Officers do not determine violations, impose sanctions, or make bond-related decisions; all enforcement and judicial determinations remain with the Court.
Typical Duties
Conducts intake, explains court-ordered bond conditions to defendants, and documents acknowledgment of conditions
Monitors compliance with court-ordered conditions including GPS monitoring, no-contact and stay-away orders, firearm restrictions, court-ordered alcohol and drug screening, and other judicially-imposed requirements
Reviews GPS alerts and reports, investigates potential violations, and coordinates with monitoring vendors and law enforcement
Maintains accurate records of all monitoring activities, alerts, and compliance observations in the Court's database
Reports factual observations regarding non-compliance to the Court, District Attorney's Office, and law enforcement via established protocols
May make limited administrative contact with identified victims to provide officer identification, bond violation reporting information, and Office of Family Safety referrals as authorized by court order
Attends court hearings, case reviews, High-Risk Intervention Panel meetings, and supervisory sessions as directed
Completes required training on domestic violence, GPS systems, court procedures, and TABS operations
Complies with TABS Policy and court procedures
Knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, court procedures, and bond condition requirements
Ability to operate GPS monitoring systems and interpret location data and alerts
Clear written and verbal communication skills with diverse populations
Proficiency with databases, case management systems, and computer applications
Ability to document factual observations objectively and maintain accurate records
Professionalism, impartiality, and sound judgment in distinguishing monitoring from judicial decision-making
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Public Administration, or related field and two (2) years of experience in criminal justice, court services, probation, law enforcement, or social services.
Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education. (1:1 Ratio)
LICENSE REQUIRED
Valid Driver License

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise directed by the Court or Supervisor.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
Newly hired Compliance Officers will serve a ninety (90) day probationary period during which performance, reliability, professionalism, and adherence to policy will be evaluated.
TRAINING:
Compliance Officers must complete required training on domestic violence, GPS monitoring systems, court procedures, and program operations.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
Compliance Officers must maintain professionalism, punctuality, attentiveness in court, accurate documentation practices, and appropriate workplace conduct at all times. Compliance Officers are expected to remain attentive and engaged during court proceedings and maintain appropriate courtroom decorum at all times.
