Summary The Management and Program Assistant (Analysis) will be an employee of the VA Tennessee Valley Health Care System (TVHS) in Nashville, Tennessee and will support nursing services to include the Associate Director, Nursing Service, Nursing Service Chief Nurse, Chief Ward Administration, and Nurse Managers. Responsibilities Ensure the accurate identification, reporting, trending, and education to provide efficient operations and to protect the organization's resources. Reviews data and metrics for timekeeping to include Financial Services Center (FSC) liaison communication. Facilitate the design and implementation of indicators, processes and critical pathways that promote the establishment of effective monitoring of all processing functions. Coordinate and assist with effective tracking systems and conduct statistical analysis on the data to identify patterns/trends and variances. Coordinate quarterly environmental and safety inspections for the Service. Set priorities and develop strategies to achieve desired goals. Research and interpret internal and external policies, directives, survey standards and regulatory requirements. Collect data from multiple sources ensuring precise and accurate summaries are provided for reporting, tracking/trending and reviews. Identify statistically significant deviations or variances affecting the Nursing program and/or meriting additional study and recommendations based on the findings. Prepare correspondence to local and national (Congressional) inquiries. Make oral presentations to graphically present statistics and other data. Prepare written reports to graphically present statistics and other data. Provide consultation, education, user defined studies, and analysis to managers throughout the network. Establish goals and plans for the development and deployment of defined projects. Review and report all workload statistics and program functions. Assist in preparation of the annual evaluation of the Service quality management activities and the annual management briefings. Coordinate and prepare recurring or one time requested reports. Maintain assigned fund control points. Manage the flow of data, develop and manage the content of share points and databases. Qualifications To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/01/2026. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires mobility within the TVHS environment and occasional travel to other cities for meetings and conferences.
