Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Pastoral Care, provides administrative duties to support the Pastoral Care Department which is an integral member of the Interdisciplinary Care Team hospital-wide and in the Cancer Center. This individual has responsibility for the data collection and file management to maintain the standards and maximize the efficiency of the Pastoral Care Department.

This is a full time 40 hour/ week position

Responsibilities:

Manages all administrative needs of the Pastoral Care Department.

Provides information and assistance to the Volunteers, Staff and the Public.

Organizes and establishes a process for consistent file management.

Maintains office supplies and religious literature.

Oversees the use and maintenance of the Pastoral Care Office and Chapel.

Refers questions and/or problems to the Manager of Pastoral Care.

Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Commits to recognize and respect cultural diversity for all customers (internal and external).

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:

Ability to work independently.

Ability to answer the telephone and direct calls appropriately.

Ability to organize and file documentation, as well as manage other daily reports.

Ability to solve practical problems and use appropriate judgement with patients, staff and outside agencies.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Technical/Other:

Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
