The Office of Workforce Development (OWD)is a key division of Louisiana Works managing programs in workforce training, job placement, apprenticeships, and business engagement. Through collaboration with local boards, educational institutions, and industry partners, OWD aims to improve economic mobility for job seekers and ensure Louisiana employers have the skilled talent they need, contributing to the state's economic growth.
This Workforce Development Administrative Assistantis responsible for the statewide development, implementation, monitoring, technical assistance, and evaluation of the Jobs for America's Graduates Louisiana (JAG-LA) Programs, Transitional Support Programs, Alternative Education Programs/Schools, and special projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus four years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services; OR
A master's degree plus three years of experience in workforce development, administrative services, or social services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Details:
Develop and implement effective statewide programs, initiatives, and special projects designed to meet the needs of at-risk youth and improve graduation and postsecondary outcomes.
Provide leadership and support to JAG-LA Programs, JAG-LA Specialists, and participating districts/agencies to strengthen academic achievement and increase graduation rates.
Assist JAG-LA Specialists in delivering services that enable students to earn industry-recognized credentials and successfully transition to postsecondary education and/or the workforce.
Lead, collaborate, and communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of special projects.
Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive reports on the progress, outcomes, and overall impact of special projects to stakeholders.
