Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Lead to drive the strategic development, implementation, and optimization of our Marketing Cloud platforms. This role will be instrumental in leveraging cutting-edge marketing technologies to enhance customer engagement and support our global marketing initiatives, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
What You Will Do:
Technical Leadership & Team Guidance
Guide a team of Marketing Cloud developers and specialists through implementation challenges, setting technical direction, reviewing designs, and ensuring solutions are architecturally sound and aligned with best practices.
Provide deep subject matter expertise in SFMC architecture, platform capabilities, and emerging features, ensuring the team applies the right approach at every stage of delivery.
Conduct design and code reviews that elevate team output, to ensure work is done to the highest standard.
Oversee end-to-end technical delivery of Marketing Cloud implementations, holding the team accountable to data integrity, system performance, compliance, and quality.
Evaluate new SFMC features and releases, translating their potential into actionable recommendations for the team and stakeholders.
Define and enforce development standards, governance policies, and security protocols.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, including active adoption of AI tools to help the team work smarter and deliver faster.
Ensure the team maintains comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational procedures.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and actionable development plans aligned with IT strategy and marketing objectives.
Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to prioritize initiatives, develop requirements, and ensure solutions meet business objectives.
Lead technical design sessions and conduct design walkthroughs with both business and technical audiences.
Lead grooming workshops, provide level-of-effort estimates, and maintain clear communication of technical scope and timelines.
Manage stakeholder expectations proactively, surfacing risks, dependencies, and trade-offs before they become blockers.
Participate in vendor management and evaluation for related marketing technology solutions.
Your Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development and architecture experience.
Experience in a Technical Lead or Senior Developer capacity with evidence of technical influence and cross-functional collaboration.
Hands-on experience in AMPscript, SSJS, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL within the Marketing Cloud environment.
Hands-on experience designing and supporting Marketing Cloud Connect implementations, including API integrations and data extensions that power cross-channel campaigns.
Experience applying data modeling, data architecture, and database concepts in a marketing @context, including designing or maintaining marketing data structures for segmentation, targeting, or campaign execution.
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification(s), such as Email Specialist, Consultant, Administrator, Developer, or Architect.
Experience with Agile development methodologies, including user story creation and sprint grooming.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$64,500 - $151,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
