The 3PL (Sort) Center Senior Program Manager is an exciting opportunity within Nordstrom Supply Chain Operations and Transportation to support a growing network strategy, leading the new location in Keasbey, New Jersey This leader serves as the on-site Nordstrom representative and primary point of contact for a third party-operated facility, providing hands-on leadership to ensure accurate, reliable, on-time, and efficient movement of inventory across the site. In close partnership with the third-party provider, transportation teams, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores, and SC network partners, this role is accountable for strong daily execution, meeting established KPIs and service-level commitments, and driving analytically informed continuous improvement across operations, transportation, and inventory flow. The role plays a critical part in managing performance visibility and reporting, with a focus on service, OS&D, building health, and shrink, while fostering an environment of operational excellence that delivers efficiency, accuracy, and positive outcomes for customers and partners.
This is a highly visible role that requires a seasoned, collaborative leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and balances near-term execution with longer-term capability building. You own this role if you are a strategic problem solver with a passion for operational excellence, program management, strong understanding of supply chain and transportation fundamentals, and the ability to translate insight into action. Success comes through proactive ownership and outstanding partnership across the supply chain to support Nordstrom's business objectives and deliver exceptional service. This role will be based on-site at 3PL in Keasbey, New Jersey.
A Day in the LifeCore Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Nordstrom on-site point of contact at the Sort Center, providing leadership with the 3PL partner to ensure performance against established metrics and SLAs, while maintaining strong relationships with store leadership to support seamless operations and communication.
Define, track, and publish KPIs that measure the health of the 3PL operation, including Cost, Service, Capacity, Backlog, Inventory Accuracy, and Cycle Time, and provide regular performance updates to senior leadership.
Lead Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Business Reviews (WBR, MBR, QBR), driving shared accountability to performance metrics across Nordstrom and the 3PL partner.
Support daily inbound and outbound execution, proactively identifying and resolving issues that impact flow, service, inventory accuracy, or exceptions.
Partner cross-functionally with DC Operations, Transportation, Inventory, Stores, Finance, and external partners to establish strong operating rhythms, governance, and alignment across the enterprise.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve flow, utilization, service, and end-to-end processes.
Play a key role in program management for the Sort Center initiative, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
Ensure the Sort Center successfully adopts new capabilities, requirements, and functionality as part of the broader Nordstrom Supply Chain Operations and Transportation network.
Own site-level financial outcomes, including monthly invoicing, supply cost management, and reconciliation in partnership with Finance.
Build strong collaboration with Nordstrom on-site leaders across the sort center network to drive consistency and parity in operational performance.
Operations
Partner to drive the flow and execution of the day-to-day operations of the 3PL location, ensuring efficient processing of +2M cartons annually.
Support New Store Openings and staged pallet inventory visibility driving on-time execution of future delivery dates for stores
Partner with SCO leadership to support daily sort center operations and ensure execution aligns to plan.
Monitor inbound and outbound activity throughout the day, identifying risks, constraints, or disruptions and driving timely resolution.
Serve as a key communication link between the Sort Center and upstream/downstream partners including DCs, FCs, and Stores.
Support operational readiness across shifts by reinforcing schedules, priorities, and staffing considerations to align to SC Operations Best Practices.
Identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities as the site continues to stabilize and grow.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiencies, service, and safety measures.
Transportation
Coordinate end-to-end transportation execution across DCs, stores, vendors, and carriers to ensure smooth daily flow and service reliability.
Partner with DC transportation teams to manage weekly transportation schedules across nonpeak, standard, and peak periods, including inbound and outbound flow alignment, proactive communication of operational changes or disruptions, and coordination of new routes and NSO (new store opening)-related scheduling.
Collaborate with Store ROM and ROD teams to support four-week scheduling accuracy, load balancing, and mitigation of store maximum capacity constraints, including NSO trailer flow during fill-up periods and transition into steady state operations.
Serve as the primary onsite point of contact and escalation for transportation related issues, including carrier performance, yard constraints, third-party challenges, and store impacting disruptions, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
Own load balancing, trailer utilization, and route level optimization efforts in partnership with onsite carriers and DC transportation teams to improve service, cost, and network flow.
Manage and mitigate Truck Issues Log concerns, coordinating resolution across DCs, the Sort Center, carriers, and stores.
Act as the primary regional point of contact for merchandise vendors, supporting pickup coordination, resolving load booking issues to DCs and FCs, and monitoring vendor pickup security and compliance processes.
Support first mile transportation activities as needed, ensuring inventory traceability, accuracy, and improved outbound cost and service performance to stores.
Review transportation performance and KPIs, including On-Time Performance, trailer utilization and Yard-to-Empty, using insights to drive continuous improvement in execution, flow, and network efficiency.
You Own This If You Have...
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of experience in operations, transportation, logistics, or distribution center environments.
Demonstrated experience leading projects and partnering across cross-functional teams to solve complex operational and transportation challenges.
Working knowledge of transportation networks, carrier operations, shipping platforms, and related supply chain systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard operational tools.
Familiarity with yard management, carrier coordination, routing concepts, and how transportation decisions impact service, cost, and network flow.
Strong analytical skills, including experience using data, metrics, and KPIs to identify trends, drive insights, and translate analysis into action.
A strong sense of ownership and accountability for operational and transportation outcomes, with the ability to balance real-time execution and proactive planning.
Comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving scope while maintaining focus on results and enterprise impact.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence teams and partners without direct authority.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, paired with emotional intelligence to lead independently and build strong relationships.

New Jersey: $110,500-$183,500 Annually
