OVERVIEW

Internships at The Safariland Group offer distinctive, hand-on experience in a design and manufacturing

setting. As a Manufacturing Engineer intern, you will work alongside Assembly, Accessories, and Sub-

Assembly personel, supporting them and the Safariland business group in daily operations.

RESPONSIBITLITIES

Work with other Manufacturing Engineers to achieve optimal level of efficiency, delivery and quality

standards.

Participate in cost reduction initiative for Safariland Duty Gear manufacturing.

Participate in continuous improvement and Change Control Projects.

Support design for manufacturing initiatives.

Documentation, analysis, and assessment of project status, reviews, and testing results.

Participate in Root Cause analysis and counter measure implementation.

Time Studies for new and existing product.

Participate in changing and maintain Lean culture.

Computer-aided design and drafting using Solid Works and/or Draft Site (AutoCad).

Participae in researching, determening ROI, recommend and implementing automation processes/

equipment within the manufacturing facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a student actively pursuing a major in Engineering, Materials, and/or Physics.

Students with a GPA of 3.2 or higher

Experience in 3D drawing, ideally in Solidworks.

Related Business, Operations or Engineering experience a plus.

Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

Must possess excellent work ethic and ability to self-motivate.

Must be able to multi-task as well as prioritize various tasks at hand.

General understanding of Lean.

Understand the importance of being a team player.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
