Job Title: Entry-Level Accounts Payable Clerk

Job Description

We are searching for a motivated Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will obtain, sort, check, and record information related to accounts payable for maintaining accounting records. We are open to training professional & sharp graduate!

Responsibilities

Check and approve all vouchers for payment.

Prepare invoice deduction notices as necessary.

Audit freight bills against freight manifests.

Answer all vendor inquiries.

Prepare and maintain accounts payable checks.

Prepare analysis of accounts as required.

Process all expense reports and post them for payment.

Assist in monthly closings.

Review purchase orders, delivery slips, invoices, and check information for accuracy.

Review, verify, and stamp invoices, stubs, or purchase orders and file them accordingly.

Collect, retrieve, or deliver mail or inter-office memoranda to other departments.

Check computer for delinquent accounts or trace or locate missing checks or statements.

Enter and post information into the computer such as new ingredient vendors or supplies.

Update vendor information in the computer.

Check, sort, and stuff envelopes.

Confer with other departments to locate missing receipts or to reclassify information that is not clearly discernible.

Answer telephone and take messages from vendors regarding check disbursements or related information.

Assist with accounts receivable as necessary.

Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Initiate timely weekly check runs and transfer payments.

Essential Skills

Experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, invoicing, way match, and coding.

Proficiency in Excel, specifically with pivot tables or vlookups.

Comfortable with a more manual AP environment, including Oracle and Enterprise One.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ronkonkoma, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.50/hr.
