Interim Accounting Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Accounting Manager to provide leadership and stability within a dynamic, growth-oriented manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a hands-on environment while overseeing a small, collaborative team. You'll play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting month-end close activities.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both managing people and rolling up their sleeves to handle critical accounting tasks directly.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of three accountants responsible for journal entries and account reconciliations.

Hands-On Accounting:

Prepare fewer than five monthly journal entries.

Perform approximately three monthly account reconciliations.

Month-End Close Support: Ensure timeliness and accuracy across all journal entries, reconciliations, and close deliverables.

SOX Compliance: Maintain and enforce controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Advanced Excel Work:

Use PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and other advanced functions to analyze data and support decision-making.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and leadership to support reporting and audit needs.

Systems: Utilize Onestream and other accounting tools to complete and review financial activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

Expert-level Excel skills (Pivots, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis).

Strong SOX compliance background with proven ability to maintain a robust internal control environment.

Manufacturing industry experience-understanding of cost accounting, inventory, and operational workflows preferred.

Deep knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

Experience with Onestream or similar financial reporting systems. (Just a PLUS, Not required)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.
