Construction Accountant

Key responsibilities include:

Construction job cost accounting including WIP/percentage of completion, AIA billing, AP, AR, reconciliations, and month/year end close

Reviewing subcontractor monthly pay applications for accuracy and contract compliance including supporting documents (lien waivers, COIs, Certified Payroll, Affirmative Action Reporting, etc.)

Monitor account receivables, proactively follow up on outstanding balances, and address issues impacting timely collections

Identifying financial risks or cost issues and working with management on solutions

Maintaining strong working relationships with leadership, clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and outside accounting firm and accounting consultant to support accurate financial reporting.

Ideal experience:

Construction accounting experience is required

Strong understanding of job costing and WIP reporting

Willing to learn QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is required

Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay organized across multiple projects

Proactive and solution-oriented mindset

Must- Have Experience:

Construction accounting experience is required (at least

3-5 years)

Associates degree in Accounting, finance or related field

required

Comfortable working with PMs and managing a team

Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting,

and month/year end close

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodbridge, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87/hr.
