Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Opelika, Alabama. This contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with high-volume operations. You will play a key role in managing accounts receivable processes and supporting the financial reporting team.

Responsibilities:

Respond to incoming calls from retail customers, providing support for billing questions, account reconciliation, and general information requests.

Make outbound calls to customers with overdue balances to collect outstanding payments.

Maintain thorough records of all customer communications.

Offer assistance to internal staff (including sales team members) in processing electronic invoices, addressing technical problems, making necessary corrections, and collaborating with IT for resolution.

Distribute monthly billing statements to customers by mail.

Create and update customer profiles within the system.

Review and reconcile customer accounts, including preparing monthly Excel account reconciliations for larger retail accounts.

Partner with management to address and resolve invoicing discrepancies.

Support the processing of daily customer deposits.

Perform additional tasks as delegated by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts receivable, including billing and collections.

Comfortable working with high-volume transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Adobe Acrobat.

Familiarity with ERP software is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal teams.
