Summary The Division of Investment Management (IM) is seeking skilled attorneys with a great attention to detail to join the Chief Counsel's Office (CCO) and the Disclosure Review and Accounting Office (DRAO). These positions involve providing sound legal analysis and guidance on matters affecting investment companies and investment advisers, reviewing complex filings and regulatory submissions, and supporting policy and rulemaking initiatives. Chief Counsel's Office (CCO) Provide formal and informal guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the Investment Company Act, the Investment Advisers Act, and related securities laws, including reviewing and evaluating no-action and interpretive requests. Review and analyze applications for exemptive relief under the Investment Company Act and the Investment Advisers Act. Collaborate with staff across EXAMS, Enforcement, and other SEC divisions on matters involving potential violations and other issues arising under the federal securities laws. Contribute to rulemaking, guidance, legislative, and policy initiatives related to investment companies, investment advisers, business development companies, and private funds. Disclosure Review and Accounting Office (DRAO) Review, analyze, and provide comments on investment company, business development company, and insurance company filings-including registration statements, merger materials, proxy filings, tender offers, and other submissions-to ensure compliance with disclosure and regulatory requirements. Provide formal and informal guidance on disclosure-related issues arising under the Investment Company Act, Investment Advisers Act, and other applicable laws. Shared Responsibilities (CCO & DRAO) Collaborate with colleagues across the Division and the Commission on cross-cutting issues affecting investment companies and investment advisers. Support senior leadership by preparing speeches, presentations, and other public-facing materials related to regulatory developments, policy initiatives, and Division priorities.
