Project Manager - Facilities & Operational Readiness

About the Role:

As a Project Manager for Operational Readiness & Capital Projects, you will be the driving force behind transforming complex facility expansions into high-functioning, GMP-ready environments. This is a high-impact, onsite role where you will bridge the gap between construction and production, overseeing everything from high-level capital project execution to the technical nuances of utility installations and equipment commissioning. You won't just be managing a schedule; you will be the primary orchestrator ensuring that critical biotech infrastructure; including HVAC, process utilities, and specialized cleanrooms, is seamlessly integrated and ready to support life-saving manufacturing operations.

Here's a glimpse into your day to day:

Support the execution of capital projects including facility expansions, retrofits, utilities, and equipment installations.

Coordinate daily with general contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure project activities stay on track.

Monitor and support project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation efforts.

Perform routine site walkdowns and inspections to track progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.

Ensure all permits, safety protocols, and site procedures are followed throughout project execution.

Review drawings, layouts, and specifications (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, process utilities) to ensure alignment with project and operational requirements.

Coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and startup activities in alignment with construction and production timelines.

Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) activities in partnership with engineering and quality teams.

Assist with execution of operational readiness activities, including:

Asset onboarding into CMMS systems

Development and review of SOPs and turnover documentation

Supporting system turnover and handoff to operations

Participate in change controls, risk assessments, and safety planning (JHAs).

Ensure compliance with cGMP standards and regulatory requirements (21 CFR, FDA).

Facilitate and participate in project meetings (construction, safety, stakeholder updates).

Work closely with operations, engineering, quality, and vendors to align project execution with production needs.

Coordinate with vendors on equipment timelines, delivery, and installation requirements.

Support strategies to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing manufacturing operations.

You'll be a perfect fit if you have:

5-10+ years of experience in project management within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences environments

Experience supporting capital projects, facility expansions, and/or equipment installations

Prior experience working in cGMP environments (ISO 5/7/8 preferred)

Utilities systems (WFI, clean steam, HVAC, etc.)

CQV and operational readiness processes

Experience working in construction or project execution environments alongside contractors and internal teams

Exposure to startup or expansion projects

Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay: $135,000-165,000 annually (depending on experience)

Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
