Job Title: Director, Marketing Operations - Budget and Procurement

The Job
You will work within the global Marketing organization, shaping and optimising Marketing's procurement and budget operating model. As the conduit between Marketing, Procurement and Finance, you will drive enterprise-wide alignment to strengthen Marketing's operational effectiveness and financial stewardship. By strengthening budget discipline, supplier performance, and operational efficiency, your role enables Marketing to deploy investments more effectively-directly supporting pipeline growth and revenue impact.
You will define and evolve governance frameworks to enable smarter, more efficient marketing investment decisions. You will ensure Marketing meets Procurement requirements consistently - knowing what is needed, when it's needed, and how to execute effectively. You will ensure tight alignment with Procurement and Finance to enhance Marketing's ability to invest in the right partners, channels and programs that fuel pipeline creation.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Procurement Partnership
Serve as the main point of contact between Marketing and Procurement.
Build strong working relationships with Procurement, Finance, Legal, and Marketing stakeholders.
Provide leadership with accurate and timely visibility into spend and commitments.
Oversee spend governance, accurate forecasting and reconciliation.
Assist in the development of multi-year budgets based on negotiated contracts.
Support negotiation and contracting of high-value marketing contracts.
Drive implementation and ongoing enhancement of the budget management platform to improve marketing investment effectiveness.
Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve Marketing's financial and procurement operations.
Establish clear documentation, training, and process guidance for marketing teams.
Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives to improve business performance.
Drive change adoption by aligning stakeholders and enabling smooth rollout of new processes.
Troubleshoot procurement bottlenecks, exceptions, and escalations.
Establish and lead a community of procurement champions within Marketing, providing support, guidance, and mentorship to ensure they are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate complex marketing procurement challenges.
Governance & Compliance
Drive Marketing adoption and compliance of services agreements, MSAs and SOWs.
Manage and routinely audit supplier lists to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Ensure suppliers align with the company's Responsible Sourcing Program (RSP) requirements, promoting sustainability, ethical practices, and inclusion.
Ensure suppliers meet AVEVAs Decent Work standards.
Advance alignment to corporate decarbonisation targets by assessing supplier environmental performance and supporting transition to lower-carbon partners and practices.
Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements in all procurement activities.
Essential Requirement
Degree in Business, Marketing, Procurement or a related field preferred or equivalent experience
MBA or advanced degree a plus.
Strong experience in marketing budget operations and procurement required
Experience in a global organization and familiarity with multinational procurement processes.
Deep understanding of marketing spend categories (e.g., brand, events, media, creative services, digital marketing, sponsorships, etc.).
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and suppliers.
Financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and delivering cost efficiencies.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Knowledge of procurement systems (e.g., Oracle).
Clear, proactive communication style with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent project/program management skills, including organisation, structure, and execution.
Strategic mindset with attention to detail.

Hybrid working
