Summary: Procurement, distribution and inventory controls of materials, parts, tools and supplies in support of all AEI assembly, manufacturing and support departments by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
All activities related to the procurement of items, materials, supplies, tooling and equipment beginning with intent to purchase through delivery, distribution and internal controls.
Analyzes requirements using MRP system software, for items, materials, supplies, tooling and equipment including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier and date needed.
Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested items, materials, tooling and equipment.
Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
Advises team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the product to be ordered, balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
Implements purchase orders or contracts that comply with AEI company terms and conditions and government regulations.
Maintain timely control, input and updates of purchase orders, supplier confirmations, reschedule amendments, cost corrections and other documents to assure accurate information, retention of system records.
Maintain proper control of all factory inventory by defining and setting up safety stock quantities, initiate cycle counts, lot controls, shelf life and when identified analyze and report discrepancies, make corrections and when applicable update or write work instructions or procedures to assure permanent corrections have been made.
Associate's degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school: or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
