Description

The Bilingual Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing professional, courteous, and efficient front-office support in a healthcare setting. This role is responsible for patient check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative support, while communicating effectively in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist patients in person and by phone in English and Spanish

Perform patient check-in and check-out, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information

Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments

Verify insurance eligibility and collect co-pays or payments as required

Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system

Manage incoming calls, messages, and patient inquiries in a professional manner

Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to support clinic workflow

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front office

Follow HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines at all times

Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

1+ year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare front-desk role preferred

Fluent in English and Spanish

Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills

Familiarity with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and front-office procedures

Experience using EHR systems and basic office equipment preferred

Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Ability to handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion
