This position provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the District Commander and District 2800 staff in support of Minnesota State Patrol operations. The role ensures accurate and compliant administration of district payroll and timekeeping functions, serves as the liaison between district personnel and Human Resources on payroll matters, and oversees processing, auditing, and approval of timekeeping records in accordance with statewide policies and regulations.
The position manages statutory and policy-driven records requests, maintains critical case files for fatal and serious injury crashes to ensure timely submission to prosecuting authorities, administers personnel and criminal history system records, and provides cross-functional administrative support to promote efficient and effective district office operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of math sufficient to maintain complete and accurate financial records and balance and resolve discrepancies in areas like determining eligibility, level of benefits and/or payroll
Skill in accounts receivable and computerized billing systems sufficient to enter and access information, and identify and correct errors
Ability to read source documents and enter data in specific databases or tracking systems; Accurately input, verify, and edit electronic data
Ability to prepare, edit, and finalize emails, memos, reports, and/or other documents and @types of written communication that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors
Ability to explain laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures to clients, coworkers, and customers
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
Experience with data privacy rules, policies and procedures in order to comply with DPS, MSP and BCA rules and regulations, as well as federal and state laws regarding confidentiality of data
Experience with SWIFT Procurement System & SEMA4 relating to payroll completion
Legal and/or technical terminology relating to law enforcement
Skill in word processing (Microsoft Word) spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel), and email (Microsoft Outlook) and entering data into legal databases.
Skills sufficient to train, support, and oversee administrative staff.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others, and moving and transporting light objects frequently. Even though the weights being moved and transported may be a negligible amount, a job in this category may require position self to move to a significant degree or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods.
