About this Job
The Division of Administration/Louisiana Property Assistance Agency has a vacancy. This job title has an assigned pay grade of WS-212.
LPAA'S operating budget is 100% self-generated. The incumbent of this position is responsible for supervising the vast number of deliveries/handlings of auction items in the warehouse facility that LPAA uses to receive and distribute surplus moveable property received from state agencies housed all over the state. Duties include planning the work for and supervising the performance of two (2) Warehouse Technicians, (2) Mobile Equipment Operators and as many as 6 Laborer employees. These employees load/unload surplus property items, receive items into the warehouse's inventory system, assist qualified Preference Buyers with purchasing and loading items they bought, and creating lots as needed.

Working to provide state and federal grants for community development
Development of the state budget
Providing technology services
Giving agencies guidance in the state purchasing and contracting process as they seek goods and services
Administering a program that provides federal funds to help Louisiana residents recover from a series of devastating hurricanes
We're seeking a proactive Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, accurate inventory control, and safe handling of materials. This role is responsible for coordinating deliveries and pickups, maintaining compliance with safety and fire code standards, and optimizing warehouse organization and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will lead and develop staff, enforce best practices in equipment use and inventory management, and provide reliable operational support, including serving as backup leadership when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Job Duties:
Direct daily warehouse operations by prioritizing tasks and allocating staff and resources to maximize efficiency while controlling costs.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics by reviewing delivery and pickup schedules to ensure adequate space and smooth workflow.
Maintain accurate inventory control by reviewing reports and documentation to ensure all property is properly tracked and accounted for.
Oversee safe loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper use of material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies.
Optimize warehouse space utilization by directing proper storage, organization, and consolidation of inventory.
Enforce compliance with safety standards, including fire code regulations, proper storage of materials, and adherence to workplace safety guidelines.
Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, ensuring aisles, loading docks, and disposal areas are orderly to prevent accidents.
Supervise, train, and develop staff, including hiring recommendations, performance management, safety training, and administering corrective actions as needed; provide leadership coverage in the absence of management.
