Position Overview

Its primary functions are to be the Conference Statistician and Brick River Database Specialist.

This job description indicates, in general, the nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities and other essential functions (as covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act) expected of the incumbent. It is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required.

This position will be full-time, 38 - 40 hours per week.

Essential Functions**

Statistician

Have thorough knowledge of the functions and use of GCFA's ACStats website.

Compile and analyze the statistical information submitted by churches in the Michigan Conference.

Collect, record, review, and approve statistical submissions as they come in. Follow up on any omissions or errors.

Be knowledgeable in the terminology and processes for determining the answers to the questions in the tables, to be able to assist churches and to analyze for accuracy.

Prepare the Year-End Statistical Report and submit it to GCFA.

Collaborate with Chief Financial Officer to reconfigure statistical tables if necessary for targeted data collection.

Analyze data for Conference leadership, if requested.

Database Specialist

Maintain and continuously update the information in the Brick River database, including Clergy Appointments, Leadership and Local Church database used by the Michigan Conference.

Be the Brick River "super user" for the Conference. Serve as point of contact for questions from local churches.

Operate as Conference contact person with Brick River. Work closely with Brick River to fix database 'bugs' and offer feedback on Michigan Conference use.

Train and assist District Executive Assistants on building queries for custom data exports, emails, and registrations.

Receive Appointment paperwork from the Episcopal Office and make necessary updates in Brick River. Obtain additional information as needed that is not found on paperwork.

Receive Alignment paperwork from the Episcopal Office and make necessary updates to local churches in Brick River.

Whenever Appointments and Alignments are updated, simultaneously communicate to the responsible person for the Conference Journal and the BAC (Business of the Annual Conference). Also update SharePoint, where applicable.

Prepare all reports for the Conference Journal from data exports as requested by the Conference Secretary.

Work with the Board of Ordained Ministry Administrative Assistant on clergy and leadership updates from the Nominations Report.

Learn, and train others as appropriate on, any new Brick River modules, forms, or processes that are implemented.

Process requests for labels, lists, data files, and custom reports.

Fully understand the Church Dashboard module of Brick River.

Communicate with Local Churches on how to update the Church Dashboard.

Prepare and deliver training for Local churches and Conference and District staff.

Train all new staff on Brick River.

Other

Adheres to strict confidentiality in all organizational information.
